Dublin Bus operates over 136 routes, servicing 5,000 bus stops, across its service network including- Public Service Obligation services and commercial services, which include Airlink and sightseeing tours. Services operate from 5.00am until midnight and the Nitelink service operates from midnight until 4.00am at weekends. Dublin Bus operates 364 days a year and is the main public transport provider for the Greater Dublin Area (extending as far as Newcastle in Wicklow, Balbriggan in north Dublin, Dunboyne in Meath and Maynooth in Kildare)

Absolute worst job in the world. Working with the public is suicidal. Good luck, by the time you're 30 you'll look 60. And your co workers will stab you in the back. Ask any long serving bus driver.

This ad needs to be updated as Transport for ireland has introduced a new card which says please offer me a seat badge and card as there does be people travelling on public transport that have invisible disabilities and passengers who sit on the first couple of rows of seats should be alerted when a passenger with an invisible disability need a seat as they're unable to stand on public transport

Is it true that you can drive a 30 year old bus on a car license for personal use? In other words, you don’t have to get a special license?
Hi there, we wouldn't have this information, best to get in touch with the RSA.
in UK you need a category D license to drive a bus. I believe it's the same in the EU countries, so a car license (category B) would not cover this.
@@bodazephyr6629 Update: I’ve read the booklet of exempt vehicles for UK and it says if the bus is over 30yrs old and you’re not carrying any more than 8 people you can drive it on a category B.
@@BikerBearMTB interesting, I wonder if the limit of 3500kg for category B still applies in this case. Personally, I think most people who only have a car license would struggle to drive a bus without the additional lessons done during cat D training.
@@bodazephyr6629 yes that is what I was thinking, a bus is much larger, although I’m sure you could get used to it. And no, the 3500kg limit does not apply, this is why they are called exempt vehicles. It’s nice to know it’s another vehicle option though!
